A new swimming pool has opened on the fourth floor of Daelim Art Museum in Seoul. It is not a real swimming pool, but a video of waves on a set of blue tiles makes it seem real. In the deep blue water, a quote stands shifting: “I am floating in the middle of the pool, the only news is I won’t sink.” The creator of the artwork is Coco Capitan, a young Spanish photographer. She is noted for her collaborations with global fashion brands, such as Gucci and Vogue. She mounted her first exhibition in Korea, titled: ‘Coco Capitan: Is it Tomorrow Yet?’. Not only do the artworks have an appearance that easily draws people’s eye, but they also bring sympathy to the common persons’ fear of the future.
