The Max Dalton, Moments in Film exhibit is Max Dalton’s largest solo exhibition containing 220 of his works, including his most recent illustrations of Academy Award-winning Parasite and his newest Lord of the Rings collection. The exhibit’s title “Moments in Film” is arguably a misnomer because Max Dalton’s works are much more than illustrated renditions of “moments” in pop culture. Dalton imagines beyond the scenes of films in the form of board games, characters reimagined as action figures or illustrations of how the inside of unexplored sets might look like. The audience can freely permeate in the different worlds and with sheer joy in uncovering the detailed references made to the films. The exhibit is divided into five acts from pieces inspired by iconic science-fiction movies such as the Star Wars series or film classics such as Metropolis and 2001: Space Odyssey to Dalton’s trademark Wes Anderson Collection where Dalton shares his experience in the world inside Life Aquatic, Moonrise Kingdom and of course, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
